The First Aid Center, patronized by Novartis Bangladesh Ltd, was established on February 1, 2010. The principal objective of this project is to ensure regular health checkups of each child enrolled at JAAGO.
JAAGO Foundation has hired a veteran doctor and a well-qualified nurse to provide these services. The First Aid Center provides absolutely free medical checkup and medicine to all of JAAGO's currently enrolled students. Most medications are free of charge.
Providing medical check-ups for students has been a very rewarding step for JAAGO, and the services no longer stop at just the students. Parents of JAAGO students may now collect one Monthly Health Card per family from JAAGO Foundation for BDT 30 per month to avail the services of the First Aid Center. They are then able to take advantage of the checkup facilities as many times as they like, and buy medicine at a price much lower than the prevailing market price. This gives JAAGO families affordable access to much-needed medical care and simultaneously allows the First Aid Center to be self-sustained.
