Healthy Living
Healthy kids have open minds

Every day, many JAAGO students come to school with empty stomachs. Several are suffering from malnutrition. This situation makes life hard for these children and their families. Without proper sustenance, learning can become very difficult as well.

Why we feed

Every week, the students of JAAGO Foundation are provided with nutritious foods such as milk, egg, bread, butter, jam and jelly.

The first aim of JAAGO's Healthy Living project is to care for its student's health and nutrition needs. Instead of coming to school hungry or sick, the children are healthy and ready to learn.

The second aim of the project is to give food to these children's families; this increases student retention. People who live below the poverty line rarely have the opportunity to think about their children's future. Parents often find the short-term loss of the child's earnings too much to bear. By receiving food on a regular basis, families have both short and long-term incentives to send their children to school.

How you can help

The funds for the 'Healthy Living' program come from the sales of clothing donated by friends of JAAGO Foundation. If more funds become available, JAAGO hopes to provide food on a daily basis instead of weekly.

If you or your association have the resources and would like to aid the Healthy Living program,

Call for food – donate food that can be distributed to our students
Call for clothing – donate used clothing or other supplies that can be sold to support the program
Monetary donation – any financial donation to this program will go towards nutritious food for the children.
