The majority of JAAGO students come from single parent families where the mother is the sole bread-winner. In many cases, the mother and hence the family frequently move from one place to another in search of better job opportunities. These children are then unable to continue their education at JAAGO. Often, their schooling stops altogether.
JAAGO came forward with a solution to this problem. If we train these women with fundamental working skills, we equip them with the caliber required for a higher paying job that gives them geographic stability.
JAAGO Foundation facilitates two programs for women empowerment – The Sewing Centre and the Candle Factory. Both of these programs include training, internships and paid jobs at the premises where women work in safe conditions.
