Ashfaqul Haq Manager, Social Business JAAGO Foundation

Ashfaqul Haq Chowdhury joined JAAGO Foundation after he graduated from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. He was a student of St. Joseph High School and Notre Dame College.

Ashfaq is Bangladesh’s first international debating champion and he wants to continue to make real contributions to the society. He likes JAAGO’s ambition to change our country and how it treats the underprivileged segment of the society. To him, JAAGO is different because of its mission and how the employees and volunteers are emotionally involved with it.

"If you can move forward even an inch, that's good. Because most of others are stuck in their places."

Aumee Ahmed Manager, Communications Department JAAGO Foundation

Aumee Ahmed did her HSC and SSC from Viqarunnesa School and is currently doing BBA from IBA, Dhaka University. When Aumee first started working at JAAGO Foundation, it was just another job for her. But before she knew it, it grew on her and after participating in some of the events here, she got hooked onto the enthusiasm, creativity and sincerity of the people who work to fulfill the JAAGO mission.

Azanta Mirza Editor, PR Department JAAGO Foundation

Completing her SSC and HSC from Viqaruunnisa Noon School, Azanta Mirza was a student of Economics at the University of Dhaka when she first heard about JAAGO Foundation. Hearing about the activities and the ambitions of the institution on a radio show back in 2007, she instantly made up her mind to one day work for the organization. As soon as her Honours was completed, she wasted no time in joining JAAGO as a Copywriter.

Azanta sees JAAGO as a medium to give back to the society, helping the underprivileged children of Bangladesh receive what is rightfully theirs – a normal life, security to the basic necessities and a bright future. Like JAAGO Foundation, Azanta too believes that only today's youth can one day bring the much needed change in our country.

"It's about time we show some responsibility for our country, and JAAGO, with its friendly and determined attitude to change the circumstances, is the perfect way to contribute to the society,"

Dipu Ahmed Project Officer, VBD, JAAGO Foundation

Initially as a volunteer and later as an employee, Dipu Ahmed joined JAAGO Foundation to work for his community and his country, specially the deprived street children of Bangladesh.

Finishing his SSC and HSC from K.K. Govt. Institution of Munshiganj and Dhaka Commerce College, Dipu is a Business Graduate from University of Development Alternative (UODA). JAAGO Foundation is his first job fresh out of university.

Dipu believes in JAAGO's motto that by educating the underprivileged, we can give them the tools by which they can break the cycle of poverty, and improve their lives and living standard.

Farah Hamud Senior Writer, PR Department JAAGO Foundation

Farah Hamud completed her O Level from Sunbeams and her A Level from Mastermind. She is currently on an academic gap-year and will join Smith College, Massachusetts in Fall 2012. She joined JAAGO because she wanted some work experience outside school that would change her perspective on life.

Hasan Toufique Imam Project Officer, VBD JAAGO Foundation

Hasan Toufique Imam Shuvro came to JAAGO one day and decided to stay - first as a volunteer and later as an employee. Finishing his SSC from Govt. Lab High School and his HSC from Ideal College, Shuvro was a fresh Marketing Graduate from the University of Gloucestershire, London when he was first introduced to JAAGO Foundation.

Shuvro's three great interests in his life are photography, kids and teaching, and he finally found a way to combine these three at JAAGO. Completing a basic course in Photography form the South Asian Institute of Dhaka (Paathshala), he brings his camera to work every day, clicking away at his unaware colleagues in his spare time.

Humaun Kabir Asst. Project Manager, Administration JAAGO Foundation

Humaun Kabir went from Potuakhali Jubilee High School to Korim Mrida Government College and then on to Potuakhali Government College from where he earned his BBS and MBS degrees in Accounting.

"I like working with JAAGO because it gives me a sense of belonging. My parents passed away when I was young and shortly afterwards I got into working for children. It gave me peace."

Imran Newaz Khurshid Research and Training Officer, VBD JAAGO Foundation

Imran Khurshid completed his A Levels from Maple Leaf International School and was in Brac University's Class of 2010. He Majored in Electronic and Communication Engineering with a Minor in Physics. Imran has worked at Brac University's laboratory as a technical officer, among others. He is a bright young man with the vision of providing free access to education and information to everyone and everywhere.

"When a significant part of your country suffers from abject poverty for year after year, it is no longer about just that part of your country. It's about the entire country, and it's about you."

Khaled M. Mustafa Strategic Development Manager JAAGO Foundation

Khaled Mahmood Mustafa finished his school at Bangladesh International School (BIS) in Riyadh, KSA before attaining an Bachelors degree in Marketing from Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). After working several years in multinational companies and in numerous business projects, he came to JAAGO looking for a change.

The freedom of communication and the unobstructed flow of ideas, according to Khaled, is one of the most unique features of JAAGO Foundation. Unlike the rigid corporate sector, he was relieved to find the energy and the determination that flows throughout the organization contagious as well as refreshing.

Khaled Mahmood desperately wishes JAAGO to flourish because the ideology of the foundation is very close to his own – live and let live.

Md. Shajjad Hossain Asst. Manager(Finance), Accounts Department JAAGO Foundation

Md. Shajjad Hossain came to JAAGO because he felt the need to provide education to the poor of Bangladesh, and make them self-dependent. In other words, his ambition and JAAGO’s, was the same. As time went by, he began to enjoy his work; particularly the idea of volunteerism appealed to him a great deal. At JAAGO, he found a team-spirit and positive environment that he valued the most.

Shajjad Hossain passed his SSC from Tuzarpur S.A. High School and his HSC from Bhanga K.M. College. He joined JAAGO Foundation as the Assistant Manager in the Finance and Accounts Department after his post-graduation in Finance from Northern University, Bangladesh (NUB).

Mominur Rashid Project Officer, Administration JAAGO Foundation

Graduated from Genenkur High School, Dinajpur and then from National University in BSS, Mominur Rashid has an impressive array of work experiences ranging from being a Loan Officer at a microcredit NGO to an IT Officer in an education and rehabilitation centre. Momin enjoyed all his work environments but he always felt there is something more he can do in life, for his country's people. Before long, he joined JAAGO Foundation with the goal of working for the betterment of society.

Mona Zakir Education Coordinator, Education Department JAAGO Foundation

Mona Zakir completed her O and A Levels in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at BIES. She is currently studying Law. Mona has been associated with JAAGO from its very beginning and is an integral part of the JAAGO family.

Nahin Sultana Sponsorship Officer, Sponsorship Department JAAGO Foundation

With a major in Marketing and a BBA degree, Nahin Sultana came to work at JAAGO Foundation because of one of her most favorite things – kids. According to her, JAAGO has accepted the most neglected responsibility of the society as their main challenge. Working for the underprivileged children is a challenging task and she is willing to take the challenge.

Previously an employee of one of the leading telecom enterprises of Bangladesh, she finds her present work at JAAGO simply wonderful. She finds JAAGO to be different from any other place and the sheer dedication and the commitment of the workers are contagious as well as enthralling.

Niaz Uddin Education Development Officer, Education Department JAAGO Foundation

After completing his SSC and HSC from B. A. F. Shaheen School and College, Chittagong and his BBA (Marketing) from United International University (UIU), Niaz Uddin spent a few years in a wide-ranging career before coming to JAAGO Foundation.

Niaz feels that JAAGO is the perfect place for him as he has never wanted to work for money, status or some other relative things. Niaz has always had a thirst for making change, creating significant impact and working towards making this world a better place to live in.

In the beginning, JAAGO was a simple idea which has now become a life changing vision. To Niaz, this is what is unique about JAAGO - the way the organization has transformed its vision into actions.

Nody Rashid Manager, Corporate Affairs JAAGO Foundation

Nody Rashid completed her Honors and Masters in Geography and Environment Studies from the University of Dhaka before completing another Masters Degree in Economics from the San Jose University of California. After finishing her education, she worked at various positions in the Bank of America before joining Wells Fargo Bank in Cupertino, California.

Nody resigned from a prestigious post at the Wells Fargo Bank to return to her homeland. From the early days of her education, she has always been an active member for various volunteer groups both in the States and in Bangladesh; which has all been much talked about and publicized in numerous newspapers. However, Nody missed the chance to work at the grass-root level with people who are in real need. When she found out about JAAGO, she found the positive and enthusiastic environment she liked.

Now, working at the center of JAAGO as the Executive Coordinator, Nody finds her work both exciting and meaningful and exactly what she was looking for all along.

Sadman Safat Manager, Sponsorship Department JAAGO Foundation

Sadman Safat completed his HSC and SSC from Rifles Public School and College and is currently in Dhaka University's IBA Department in his 7th semester and final year. Having always performed excellently in his academics, Sadman wanted to try something different and wanted the experience of a part-time job and that is when he came across JAAGO.

Samiul Haque Asst. Sponsorship Manager, Sponsorship Department JAAGO Foundation

Samiul Haque completed his school life at Maple Leaf International School and did BBA at Presidency University. He worked in the Marketing Section of a renowned bank and currently runs a self-initiated fashion, furniture and electronics line. To Samiul, JAAGO isn't like his second home, it's like his home.

Saymon Hossain Khan Ovi Officer, VBD JAAGO Foundation

Saymon Hossain joined JAAGO on 15th March 2011 with only one goal on his mind: rebuilding the nation. Graduating from Motijheel Model High School, Saymon pursued his higher studies in Dhaka Bigyan College, earning his HSC in Business, and then went on to National University where he did his Honours in Marketing. He has previously worked with nationally and internationally acclaimed companies as Event Manager and has also the experience of being Band Manager and Sound Engineer of renowned musical groups. He has now dedicated himself to JAAGO because he feels that it is only an organization like JAAGO that really understands the quality of life and makes the most fundamental contributions to a nation.

"Words such as philanthropy, charity and donation are graceless misnomers in vocabulary and society. 'Charity' isn't charity, it's our duty and an obligation to our moral senses."

Shahida Sultana Sewing Center Coordinator, Women Empowerment JAAGO Foundation

Shahida Sultana was schooled in Loreeto, Our Own English High School and private. She graduated from Shanta-Mariam University of Creative Technology with an Honors Degree in Fashion Designing.

Shahriar Romy Web Application Developer, PR Department JAAGO Foundation

Shahriar Romy, a former student of M.N. Pilot High School, received his Diploma in Computer Science from Kushtia Polytechnic Institute and his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Bangladesh University of Business and Technology. He entered the realm of JAAGO on Valentine's Day 2010 for his love of underprivileged children and our less developed communities. As JAAGO's web developer, he manages the entire cybernetic side of the foundation and is the primary hand behind all its online representations, promotions and awareness distribution.

Shati Ahmed Executive Assistant JAAGO Foundation

Shati Ahmed was a student of European Standard School in Dhaka before she went to the University of Alberta to pursue a Major in Mathematics. Between her studies, she had been a teacher at Anandaniketan European School, a school for special children; and a Sales Associate at Wal-Mart.

Shati Ahmed joined JAAGO Foundation during her semester break in November 2011. In a very short time, JAAGO began to feel like a family to her. As the days went by, she loved waking up in the mornings, knowing that a fun and fulfilling day awaited her at the office.

Shati loves working at JAAGO Foundation. It is a great learning spirit for her and she loves the thrill, the work-load, and more importantly, the work environment.

"I believe that life is what happens to you when you are busy making other plans. Most people exist, but to live is the rarest thing in the world. In three words, I can sum up everything I have learned about life - it goes on."

Tanvir Alam Manager, Finance Department JAAGO Foundation

Tanvir Alam came to JAAGO Foundation with a friend and instantly fell under the magic of the organization. A final year student of Institute of Business dministration (IBA), University of Dhaka, he joined JAAGO first as a part-time and later as a full-timer. He is also a level 2 candidate of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program.

Colleagues, environment, and a reason to work for - these are the three things that motivate Tanvir to come to work every day. Previously a freelance financial consultant, he loves his present job immensely. Working for the deprived population of the country is just what he wanted to do, and with JAAGO Foundation, he is able to do so.
