OIC High School Model Summit 2022

We are so proud to announce that Tamanna Akter, a student from JAAGO Foundation and Najat Afnan Kabir, a volunteer from Volunteer for Bangladesh, have represented Bangladesh at the OIC High School Model Summit 2022 in Turkey. This is a huge feat, especially for Tamanna—she never thought of going to school before joining JAAGO school and today she is the first Bangladeshi delegate ever attending this program.

Tamanna is a girl from the slums of Korail. She never thought she’d have an opportunity like this, but because of her hard work and dedication to her studies, she could attend this conference. Tamanna has represented the Youth & Sports Ministry of the State of Kuwait.

Najat has also represented Bangladesh at this summit as part of her volunteer work with Volunteer for Bangladesh for the past few years. She has represented the Environmental Ministry of the Republic of Tunisia after being recognised for her public speaking and leadership skills during her time volunteering with VBD.

Thanks to Fahmida Faiza, MoIC Bangladesh Country Coordinator for arranging this opportunity and providing needful support!

JAAGO Foundation is delighted to participate in this year’s Dhaka Art Summit (DAS), which will be held from 3rd to 11th February 2023. DAS offers an exhibition platform for artists and focuses on art relating to South Asia. It was founded in 2012 by the Samdani Art Foundation. The Foundation has consistently supported JAAGO Foundation through thick and thin. DAS has had a 3-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so it has had time to recharge and reinvent itself. In many ways, art is a reflection of our worldviews, and it will be exciting to see how the vast global shift caused by the pandemic will be represented at DAS this year.
